Rapper Young Scooter Passes Away Following Police Chase
Kenneth Edward Bailey, known by his stage name Young Scooter, is dead following injuries he sustained in an attempt to run away from the police. In a recent single, the rapper collaborated with Future and Young Thug. His tragic end has been confirmed by officials after an unfortunate incident on his birthday.

Incident Reported by Atlanta Police
On March 28, a press conference happened during which the Atlanta Police Department stated that a 39-year-old man sustained injuries after fleeing from officers responding to a distress call on William Nye Drive. Allegedly, he injured his leg while attempting to jump a fence and was sent to Grady Hospital thereafter, where he was pronounced dead.
Variety later confirmed that Young Scooter was indeed the man in question, and the day the incident happened on his 39th birthday.
Emergency Call Described a Violent Dispute
When authorities responded to a 911 call about a domestic dispute concerning a weapon, it was reported that shots were fired, and a woman was dragged back into the home.
Lieutenant Andrew Smith clarified that officers knocked on the door, only to have a man briefly open it again and rapidly close it. While securing the perimeter, officers observed two subjects fleeing from the back of the house.
Fatal Injury During Escape Attempt
One of the men returned to the house, but the other — later identified as Scooter — tried to escape by jumping two fences. Officers found him on the other side with a serious leg injury. Emergency medical aid was given just before he was transported to the hospital.
Lieutenant Smith clarified during the briefing that the injuries occurred as a result of the escape attempt and were not caused by police officers.
Tributes from the Music Community
It's awful news; other artists are paying them tribute. Playboi Carti seemed to capture the moment with a little Instagram Story, but Quavo's tribute post on X had an even bigger number of grieving emojis and a somber video to go with it: “ion understand.”

Young Scooter’s Career and Legacy
Young Scooter launched his music career in 2008 and later signed to the Future Freebandz imprint in 2012. He recorded a few songs and ran with a few heavyweights in hip-hop, including lending his voice to the 2018 song "Jet Lag" with Future and the late Juice WRLD
He joined Waka Flocka Flame's label in 2013, which was later featured on Young Thug's mega-hit "Guwop" in 2016, alongside Quavo and Offset of Migos. His contribution to rap coming from Atlanta had been tremendous, and his death left a great void in the hip-hop family.
