Jheńe Aiko, Tina Knowles Among Celebrities Affected by LA Wildfires

These fires have left Los Angeles scarred, reducing whole neighborhoods like the Pacific Palisades to dust, and parts of the famously known Sunset Boulevard to ashes. The fire authorities have been fighting a total of five wildfires, of which three are yet to be contained. More than 180,000 residents were forced to flee their homes, and unfortunately, five lives were lost in this disaster, which is rare.

Jheńe Aiko Shares Her Heartbreak

Among the victims who lost their homes is singer-songwriter Jheńe Aiko. The artist took to Instagram Stories to reveal that her home and all of her belongings were consumed by the flames. "Me and my children's home is gone. Burned to the ground with all our things inside. Lord have mercy," she penned. Despite the loss, Aiko was grateful that her family was safe, posting on social media, "Thankful we still have each other. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy."

Tina Knowles Mourns the Loss of Her Sanctuary

Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, also disclosed that her adored Malibu home was destroyed by the fires. In an emotional post with a video of the blaze, Knowles waxed poetic about losing her "happy place." "This is what I was looking at on my birthday this past weekend from my tiny little bungalow on the water in Malibu!" she wrote. "It was my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!"

Knowles extended her gratitude to firefighters for their “dedication and bravery in saving so many lives,” while expressing deep sympathy for others affected by the disaster. She wrote, “I’m so sad for the people who lost the five family members. My deepest prayers are with you!

To those that have lost homes and possessions, I can only imagine what that must feel like to lose everything you own." She followed with an encouragement to her followers to donate to relief organizations by providing links to some relief resources for victims.

Other Celebrities Affected by the Fires

Jheńe Aiko and Tina Knowles are not the only public figures affected by the wildfires. Actor and comedian Billy Crystal, known for his voice roles in Monsters, Inc. and starring in When Harry Met Sally, confirmed his Pacific Palisades home of 46 years was destroyed. Socialite Paris Hilton has also lost her residence to the blazes.

While the wildfires remain at large, so does the resiliency and compassion of the community since efforts are very much underway in support of those affected by this tragedy.
