Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun Have Split Ways on Instagram
Justin Bieber has officially stopped following Scooter Braun on Instagram as of January 4, 2025. This is a big move in the evolving relationship that began back in 2008. Braun is a music executive who discovered Bieber on YouTube and managed him since he was 13. However, over the years, their bond grew strained. In 2023, it was reported that Bieber was looking to distance himself from Braun's management.

Contractual Tensions and Management Challenges
Despite the growing tension, Billboard reported in August 2023 that Bieber was still contractually tied to Braun for an additional four years. Amendments to their original agreement, made in 2020, appeared to complicate the superstar's exit strategy. Sources close to Bieber's business dealings suggested that the singer was focused on resolving his contractual issues with Braun during that period.
Braun Retires from Management
In June 2024, Braun announced he would be stepping back from artist management but would remain CEO of HYBE America, the North American arm of South Korean entertainment giant HYBE. The retirement came after several high-profile artists left his SB Projects, including:
- Ariana Grande
- Demi Lovato
- J Balvin
Looking back on his career, Braun posted an emotional Instagram post that read, "23 years. That's how long I have been a manager." He name-dropped Bieber and Grande, citing that he watched them go from teens to worldwide phenomenons. "To see them both come up to be the legends they are today will forever be one of my greatest honors," he wrote. Braun made it clear that while he's no longer working professionally with either artist, he's still an ardent cheerleader for their success.
Justin Bieber - New Beginnings
But beyond the professional shake-up, Bieber's life has been full of joyous news. In August 2024, he and his wife, Hailey Bieber, welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber. One month later, in September, indie-rock artist Mk.gee said he'd been working in the studio with Bieber in an interview with The New York Times. "He seemed to be searching," Mk.gee said of the sessions.
As Bieber navigates both his personal milestones and professional transitions, his recent social media move signals the closing of a significant chapter with Braun.
