A Time To Stand Dead Hypocrite's Society
So here we go again so full of ideals
So bright and shiny but destined to feel
Like a serious threat to our convenience
Swallowing twice leaves you with indifference
Here I stand again, leather sneakers on my feet
And four more pairs that I don't actually need
While elsewhere small
Children own no shoes at all
We may ask ourselves who's gonna
Tell those kids if we don't do
Whose blood is in their chocolate
And whose sweat is in their shoes
And if few can make their voice heard
Words from deep inside their heart
We may not instantly change the world
But at least this would be a start
IN SPITE OF ALL THESE CORPORATE ORDERS
I chose to ignore
I DON'T LEAVE my dough with doctors without borders
But at the record store
And if everyone's so special
THEN WHY DOES NO ONE USE THEIR BRAINS?
And if this song is satire
Then why the f..ck does nothing change?
As long as we pull our solicitous faces
And keep away from consequences
You're all damn welcome to join
The dead hypocrites' society
Here, let me take your coat and hat
But don't forget
To ask ourselves, however
Who's gonna tell the kids
That you cannot be proud of where you're from
Only of what you did
If we took care of one another
And had our selfishness replaced
We may not change the world
But it would be a much nicer place
