Andrew Neil Tale Of The Time Machine
Tale of the Time Machine © by Andrew Neil Maternick September 2010
Door goes bam, sky starts to spill
Uncle Sam, found my still
Was on the back porch, guitar strumming
I grabbed my torch, and took off runnin’
Uncle Sam, how’d you find my Still
I ran and ran, fell down a hill
Hound dogs bearing down, are they mean?
Answer never came around, I found a time machine
No time for pride when it’s do or die
I hopped inside and figured I’d try
What now? Oh my, this can’t be true
Don’t know how, don’t know why I did what I’ll do
Holy cow, when am I? I have no clue
Same place, different time, the sky’s now blue
So I stepped out my time machine
Heared a shout, saw people far from mean
They motioned me, to come to the village
Was blessed to see, what my forefathers would pillage
Close now, I hear a beating drum
Turns out, rhythm’s a common tongue
In a hurry we arrived the pow wow just began
Old worry never survived, it was time for fun
Many words could not say the least
Flying birds, in a sky of peace
There was a dance after the feast
This was my chance to loose the leash
I dropped my pride and let it die
I hopped inside and figured out why
Figured out why and what I mean
I said goodbye time machine
