Clouds Over Normandy Concerning Morals
Great trees circled the region
And little houses spread along green fields
Peculiar people inhabited these lands
They were as peaceful as dawn
And noble like a raindrop in summertime
They lived and thrived in harmony
Isolated from the evil abroad
But Evil's reach was incalculable
And soon their peace was disrupted
By the oppressive winds from the west
Ignorant and resigned
They stood by the blazing harvest
Praying for better days to come
Until the day their hearts burned with greater fury
Holding hands and torches lit
Their voices echoed all along the valley
As they marched against the tyrants
To reclaim their rights and dignity
And the sun shined with vigor again
The day one nation arose, hand in hand
In the name of justice and equality
