i found the list of reasons to stay in their place but a
false reply from aninner voice is all i hear. it screams
to me like shallow calls to forfeit my place and become
who i was years ago. it sees this: on nights so long you
stand there with all your friends. on night so long i
stand there with my hands and eyes and thoughts across
the room. you call me and i hear the voice a friend
hears. i call you and you hear the voice a fan hears. i
call her and i call myself the fool. but she knows it's
more than i've been used to. on nights alone you stand
there. it's hard to make a friend. on nights alone i
stand there. and she stands with me.
