I've heard a rumor of a coming storm my beliefs won't keep me warm and
Regard with deep disdain the systems keeping us informed
We protest but it seems in vain shout each other down assigning blame
The current scene unfolds just like the tragedies of old
And yet we do as we are told
Obedience the key to our control

Upbraided fixated
On an outcome unforeseen seek to despair
Build walls out of fear and greed discard the ones in need of
Humanity and grace and so we falter as before
Agitate against derision won't be denied our own decisions
Who can see the architects of a turning of this tide
With all the pressure deep inside
Retaliate and let the fates collide
