I saw a rainbow

It was straight as an arrow
Hanging in the sky
Down by the trail
Leading to a crystal clear river
Bending under the bridge
Looking up at it
I felt a question rise
"Is this a normal thing here"
Judging by the crowd
That keeps on gathering
It's not a common thing
We're at Myojin Pond
Named for the deities
That roam the mountains
And the river too
Is this what it is?
Are these those nature gods
Showing a sign of life?
I saw a rainbow except it was not bowed

Floating in the sky
An embodiment of this land
If ever I saw one
What I saw was

Showing all of its colors
And the colors are familiar
