I have tended these affairs

The warm and ease of milk and silk
These were never justly loved
I kept my sparrow gloved
Its wings so sadly caged while the pages turned
O'er coffee stained books
I often had mistook
The best years of our tale, now I'll sail
As roads o'er which our feet have pressed
Oh what a tortured test
And since the rivers bade, you'll fade
I do not want the earth
