Nocomply The Price Of You
Price of You
Young girl looks into the window
of a shop selling the latest fashion.
Amongst the clothes beyond the accessories
she sees a demon laughing at our vanity.
And it breathes in all our greed and our desire to become accepted.
We are all being sold out while it looks on laughing at our stupidity.
But when it’s gone
there’s the feeling of freedom, relief, life has meaning.
But if it would take me it would break me.
If it would take me it would break me
and from this numb feeling my soul is screaming out:
for a break from this.
Take a picture of your self to remember when
days were full of wonder and imagination.
Young girl retreats from the window
tries to find a way out of the black hole
but the others have already been sucked in
and she doesn’t feel like being alone again.
Now she’s wondering how she’s going to get back
cos truth seems more fatal that a heart attack
and a figure looms on the horizon.
It consumes and eats the souls of everyone.
It won’t feel pain it can’t think straight. Give it an inch and it takes everything.
And it will not leave me cos I know too much about it.
But when it’s gone
there’s the feeling of freedom, relief, life has meaning.
But if it would take me it would break me.
If it would take me it would break me
and from this numb feeling my soul is screaming out:
It’s mind feeds on the belief that we must consume in order to feel happy.
With that it reaps and harvests all our morals and our good intentions.
It won’t feel pain it can’t think straight. Give it an inch and it takes everything.
And it will not leave me cos I know too much about it.
