Paul Blest Whitehouse
Whitehouse Station
Last night I drove 90 something minutes to your house
In the middle of nowhere, in the pouring down rain.
Just to see your face and to sleep on your wooden floor.
Because these days, there's few places I'm happy.
And the trek to central Jersey is a welcome change from the static that I see.
A mirror image that just won't stop reflecting the negative things I think about me.
And as distance swallowed me whole, I let my anxious mind go,
it was the best thing I ever did for myself.
And I still think, I'm too much trouble.
But you seem hell bent on taking the chance.
And as long as you're still in,
then I'll keep making these long drives every night I can.
And as distance swallowed me whole, I let my anxious mind go,
it was the best thing I ever did for myself.
I just wanted you to know that tonight
it's going to be damn near impossible to sleep alone.
