Everything I try to say
Turn to dust and blows away

While I swim against the tide
Misery my gloating bride
Sickening sweet comfort tell me
At least I tried
Buried is that book of rhymes
Deep within' my mind
Can't cut the cord
I live between the lines
And I never compromise
So I bleed it though my eyes
Think they're taking me home
What a sick surprise
And she watches from the sky
As I fade away and die
Unkept promises still brimming at her lips
I'll bet she smiles to herself
Keeps her secrets on a shelf
She's relieved at keeping time
With no one else
