Tom Flannery Invisible Sky
It's been 25 years nowand I still don't know
just where to run to
or where to go
I saw my life passing by
underneath an invisible sky
It was fear that clings to you
whether lie or true
there was always something
following you
my youngest said 'mommy, please don't cry'
underneath an invisible sky
invisible sky it falls asleep
like promises too bold to keep
today this bed is what I share
with others who were downwind from there
I stay here because
it's all I've ever called home
my friends and family
are all that I own
and if we go the truth will lie
somewhere under the invisible sky
