Uniform Choice Staring Into The Sun
Staring into the sun too long,
It seems a blind return to just turn away.
All my friends have grown up in spite of me,
It's so hard to bend and not break free.
Another day in a life of days, I've be found,
reaching in is the hardest part for me.
With an end never seeming to conclude,
You can't fix a fact that still remains.
Steal a glimpse at a face, defaced and read,
All those lines that make up a life.
How far, can you push too far?
It's so hard to lean on one knee.
You'd steal my shadow from the sun.
Making sense of a time denied, you know,
I never planned to understand.
All the grass has grown up in spite of me.
I can't cross my arms and turn away.
